Troubleshooting
Checks for WhatsApp linking, replies, connection, and billing access.
Start with what you see, then follow the checks in order. Most problems are a stale linking code, the wrong chat, or a dropped WhatsApp connection.
WhatsApp will not link
The QR code expired before I could scan it
Return to the Perisclaw dashboard and refresh the code, then scan the new one immediately. QR codes are deliberately short-lived.
WhatsApp says it cannot link another device
Open WhatsApp → Settings → Linked Devices, remove a device you no longer use, and try again. WhatsApp limits how many devices can be linked at once.
The pairing code does not work
Generate a fresh code in the dashboard. In WhatsApp choose Linked Devices → Link a Device → Link with phone number, then enter the new eight-character code.
Perisclaw is connected but not replying
I linked it, but I have not received the first reply
Give the assistant about 30 seconds to start. Search WhatsApp for your own name, open that self-chat, and send “hello” once more. If WhatsApp still shows Perisclaw under Linked Devices, do not repeat the linking flow.
It does not answer in another chat or group
Include /claw in the message, for example
“/claw what did we decide?” Perisclaw stays silent outside your
self-chat until you call on it, unless you explicitly changed that
chat's autonomy.
The assistant is still working on the wrong request
Send /stop in your self-chat to halt the current request and
anything queued behind it. Use /ignore inside a message when
you only want Perisclaw to ignore that one message.
The assistant appears stuck or unresponsive
Restart it from your self-chat, wait for the confirmation, then send the request once more. Restarting is for a stuck assistant; it does not repair a missing Linked Devices connection.
/restart
The WhatsApp connection dropped
The dashboard says WhatsApp is disconnected
First check Linked Devices on your phone. If Perisclaw is missing, reconnect it from the dashboard with a fresh QR or pairing code. Your saved profile and workspace remain attached to the account.
I changed phones or removed the linked device
Sign back in to the same Perisclaw account and link the active WhatsApp number again. Removing the phone connection does not by itself delete the account or its saved workspace.
Can Perisclaw warn me about a disconnect?
Yes. Allow browser notifications in the dashboard and enable connection alerts under Account and settings.
Billing is blocking access
The dashboard says my assistant is paused or suspended
Open Settings → Billing. If an invoice is unpaid, open it and choose Pay now. If the plan has ended, choose an available plan to restore access.
I paid, but the assistant is still unavailable
Refresh the Billing screen and confirm that it shows an active plan. If it does and access is still blocked, send support a screenshot of the Billing status. Never the card details.
