# Refer a friend

Get a free month of Perisclaw for every friend who subscribes, and they get a
free month too. Your friend starts with the usual 7-day free trial. When they
subscribe, they get an extra month free, and so do you. There's no limit.

## Share your link

### 1. Open Refer a friend

Go to

**Settings → Refer a friend**

on the web app. Your link appears once your WhatsApp number is connected.

### 2. Send it

Choose **Share on WhatsApp** to open a message you can edit
and send, or **Copy link** to paste it anywhere.

### 3. Your friend signs up

Your friend opens the link and signs up as usual. They see
** Referral applied** and get the normal seven-day free
trial.

## How the free month works

| **When it's earned**   | When your friend makes their first payment, usually at the end of their 7-day trial.                                                                                                          |
| **How much**           | A month at your own price. On a monthly plan that's your monthly price, including any ongoing discount. On an annual plan it's one twelfth of your annual price, taken off your next renewal. |
| **Where it goes**      | It's applied to your upcoming bills automatically. **Settings → Billing** shows when your next bill is covered.                                                                               |
| **Not subscribed yet** | If you're on a trial or your plan is paused, the month waits and is added once your subscription is paid and active.                                                                          |
| **Limit**              | None. You get a free month for every friend who subscribes.                                                                                                                                   |

## Fine print

* Only personal accounts can refer and be referred. Team plans are separate.
* Friends who subscribe through a [partner's](/partners) link or code also get
  their free month. Partners are paid commission instead of free months. If a
  friend used both a partner's link and your link, the partner gets the referral.
* The link must be used before your friend's first payment. You can't refer
  yourself.
* If your friend cancels after paying, both months stay. If their payment is
  refunded, free months that haven't been used yet are removed.
* On **Refer a friend**, you see each friend's first name and whether they've
  subscribed. The person who invited you sees the same about you: never your
  email, number, plan or payments.
* Free months have no cash value and can't be transferred.
