# Give your assistant a standing job

*August 7, 2026*

Until now, everything you handed Perisclaw had an end: a message to send, a meeting to book, a thread to chase. Some jobs don't end. Somebody has to keep an eye on the community group. Somebody has to chase the daily numbers into the sheet. **Agents** are that somebody.

## Agents

There's a new **Agents** page in your dashboard. Describe a standing job in plain words — *"watch the residents' group, log every maintenance complaint to my Issues sheet, and flag anything about water or lifts to me immediately"* — and Perisclaw writes the full brief for you to check before it goes live.

An agent watches the chats you give it, runs the check-ins you schedule, and keeps a running record of what it saw, one day at a time. That record is why it doesn't forget what happened on Tuesday: it wrote Tuesday down. You can run any check on demand, pause the whole thing with one switch, and cap what it's allowed to spend in a day.

## A workspace you can actually open

**Skills** is now the workspace behind your assistant, not just a list of skills. Everything that steers it is in one place and editable: the procedures you've taught it, what it knows about you, your standing rules, your activation rules, and your agents' briefs.

Every file keeps a **full version history** — every change, when it happened, and whether it was you or your assistant that made it, with a line-by-line diff. So you can edit freely; nothing you write over is gone. And if your assistant changes a file while you have it open, you're shown both versions and you choose. It can't quietly overwrite you.

## Long work you can see and stop

Big jobs — a sweep across months of messages, a bulk tidy-up, a research run — now happen properly in the background, saving their place after each step so a restart never loses the work. They show up on the Agents page with what they're doing and how far along, and **Cancel** stops them cleanly at the next step rather than mid-action.
